Jennifer, sending you best wishes and hope you are doing well. Charlie seemed to be about the only true friend Elvis had, when all was said and done years after Elvis died.
Also, I think he did so much more to make the concerts successful than most people ever realized. He did so much more than hand Elvis water and scarves: played acoustic guitar and sang harmony with Elvis on stage, helped decide the songs to be done and any impromptu changes, checked out the stage, lights, etc., and just helped Elvis in so many ways on stage (fixing the cable on Elvis' guitar, for instance). I wish I could have met Charlie. I think he was probably the best of the Memphis Mafia.

Charlie you and Elvis go way back as friends I think you and Elvis were very close almost like brothers yes you had your ups and downs like all friends but you were always there by his side Elvis must of thought the world of you to let you live at Graceland and later he had a home built for you on the grounds of Graceland that is some friendship god bless you Charlie

Time means Nothing why Our Memories are still There and The Funny times, Jokes and Music will go on and on.

We have met Charlie a couple of times at his Memories theater. What a wonderful person he was. He loved to talk about Elvis and himself. He made you feel like you were one of his personal friends. We will never forget him. My wife has Alzheimer's and she can't remember yesterday but she can still remember the times we met Charlie.
