Carl Hoye Obituary

Hoye, Carl Eugene "Joe" Born March 19, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to Loys Olive Marble and Otis Redwine Hoye. In 1946, Joe joined the Marine Corps at the age of 15 and served for two years until his discharge in 1948. In 1949, Joe served in the Navy and learned to fly, discharged in 1951 he immediately joined the Army and trained to be a paratrooper. He spent two years in Korea with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. They were previously given the name "Rakkasan's" by the Japanese and were an elite combat team. The remainder of his military career was spent in the army reserve. Joe was a Corporal in the Army from 1951 to 1956. C.E. Hoye "Joe" has honorable discharges from three branches of service Army, Navy and Marines. Joe returned to Dallas and married Magdalena JoAnn Schleimer on May 22, 1953. JoAnn passed away shortly after they celebrated a 50 year wedding anniversary. Joe is survived by his two children, son Michael Joe Hoye and his wife Donna of Lewisville, and daughter Carla Jean Schaub of Houston, seven grandchildren: Eric, Olivia, Adam, Calvin, Alex, Hanna and Sara and two great grandchildren Holly and Camilla. Joe is proceeded in death by his wife JoAnn, brothers Richard and Leroy, and his grandson Cameron. Joe joined the Hella Temple Shriners Gabe P Allen Lodge #1352 in Dallas. He was a Mason for over 25 years. He was a technician for Eastman Kodak for over 26 years. After Joe retired, he obtained his real estate license, and worked in the East Dallas area. Joe went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2014. Visitation is at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home 740 S. Edmonds Lane Lewisville, Tx on Thursday, July 24 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Joe's funeral services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Pleasant Grove Christian Church 1324 Pleasant Drive in Dallas, Tx. Immediately following the services is a procession to the graveside at DFW National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, Tx, 75211. Due to limitation of floral arrangements at DFW N.C.. We are asking in lieu of flowers, a donation be made directly to Muscu-lar Dystrophy Assoc., Shriners Hospital of Dallas, or Disabled American Veterans Assoc. GIVE SORROW WORDS; THE GRIEF THAT DOES NOT SPEAK WHISPERS THEE O'ER FRAUGHT HEART AND BIDS IT BREAK. HE HATH AWAKENED FROM THE DREAM OF LIFE.
