Aunt Alicia, you were an inspiration to us all. Knowing that this will be the first full year without you in my life, and my family's lives, is just something I never wanted to experience. Words cannot express the impact you had on my life. You helped shape the person I am now, and the man I will become, and I thank you for that. I love you with all my heart.
- PJ Flaherty
I still miss you so much & the wound feels so raw. I've needed to talk to you practically every day since you left us & I just hate it. I can't imagine Thanksgiving without you. I can't imagine the Beach without you. I miss your laugh, your sarcasm, your wit, your kindness, your empathy, but most of all, I miss your love. I wish I could wave a magic wand & make you come back home healthy & happy. But wishes, as we know, are for children. This child loves you & misses you more than words can say.
I am sorry to hear about your lose. Alicia was a beautiful woman and always treated me well. God Bless her! You have my prayers.

Sorry to hear about Alicia's passing. I never had the great pleasure of meeting her in person, but she must have been one of God's Angels on earth. I'm sure she must be smiling down on your whole family.
The sweetest and most beautiful woman I've ever seen with my own eyes. With great sympathy to the Stein/Flaherty families.
I had the honor to know her , she was a wonderful and beautiful person . We all going to miss her .
I am so sad to hear about the lose of Alicia. I was a childhood friend and have tried to find her without success until now. My name is Rosemary Brice Eastman. She has been in my thoughts for the last couple of years. I did not know she was sick. She was a very special person and loved to have a good time even when we were very young. We had no problem getting into (innocent) trouble. She was a natural beauty..we spent many times at the farm where her Father would scare us as we slept on the porch..she gave him several gray hairs!! I am sorry we did not stay in touch. I will keep her, you Jim and her family in my prayers.
I played the Tin-Man and Alicia was the Scarecrow in the Westminster College Production of The Wizard of Oz. I hadn't thought about her in many years and her face popped into my head last week. I was compelled to google her today and learned of her passing. We never dated but we had adventures. One day we posed as a wealthy couple and took a Pantera for a test drive, returning to the dealership 5 hours later! What fun! What a strong spirit and delight she was. She promised to take me to the circus one day to met her parents. Deepest sympathies.
It was an honor to help care for her. I will miss her
What a wonderful tribute....I wish I had known her. Beth Murphy

Your Family will be in my Heart and in my Prayers ....,
Dear Jim and Children,
I write with tears of joy for having known Alicia and tears of sadness for sich a great loss. All of us who knew her were blessed with her radiance. How fortunate we all were and especially you who knew her as Wife and Mom.
I will always remember her swinging a tennis racquet, tilting her head to the sun and smiling with love at her family and friends.
My thoughts and prayers are with you now and in all the coming days with the hope that you will find peace in her love.
What a lovely and beautiful tribute from her family to such a beautiful lady. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this very sad time.
I didn't know her, but I wish I had. What a beautiful, touching, funny, and loving tribute. So very sorry for your loss.
Dear Jim and kids: There will never be another woman like Alicia! She was amazing. My deepest sympathies to you all.
We were very fortunate to meet Alicia at Edward and Kristin's wedding. A remarkable woman. With love, friendship and sympathy to all family and friends,
Pat and Tom Williams
Dear Jim and Family,
Ann and I our very sorry for your loss.. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Beautiful Obituary!
I will remember her first day at Neshannock High School. I was asked to meet her at the back early, before the school buses arrived. I thought it was a strange request and maybe there was something wrong with her. She just didn't want anyone to see she had a chauffeur. Alicia wanted to blend in with everyone. She had a heart of gold, funny and I am sure those who crossed her path in the future also grew to love her. We had fun with many sleep overs and had to laugh when we had to do dishes at her house, too. Lin you were lucky, when I was there. I so regret not getting in touch with her over the years. We all need to remember to make time for those friends before it is too late. Alicia, every time I see a yellow butterfly I will think of you.
Prayers to your family,
Indeed a beautiful tribute from her family for a larger than life personality. Our thoughts are with the entire Stein family during this very sad time. Trippe Wayman and Alisha Bryson

beautiful picture and tribute
A beautifully written tribute to an obviously just as beautiful woman. Prayers to her family and friends.
I did not know her, however, after reading that entertaining obituary, I wish i had.... sorry for your loss.
If Alicia's legacy was to have one of the best obituaries the News Journal has ever published, she has truly succeeded! I didn't know her but sadly, after reading this, I sure wish I had. Wonderful tribute to a lady with a great sense of humor!
This is the best obituary I've ever read. I didn't know Alicia, but I can only assume she was as witty and charming as the writer. I'm sure she'll be missed. Condolences to her family and friends.
So sorry for the loss of such a beautiful woman inside and out. She will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy on the loss of your wife and your mother to all the Stein family. We will miss seeing her at Michael Christopher Salon.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
I didn't know her, but after reading this, I wish I had. She sounded like a fun time.
Our deepest condolences go out to the Stein family in your loss. Alicia Flaherty was a classmate of mine at Neshannock High School. I will always remember her as a beautiful person, both inside and out. On behalf of the Trojans of '65, we mourn the loss of our dear friend and classmate. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sorrowful time.
