Michael B. Clark
04/01/47 08/02/2013
Michael B. Clark, a native of Dayton, Ohio, and resident of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully in the presence of family and friends after a short illness.
Clark spent the majority of his career in the precious metals business. He started his 30+ year career with Deak-Perera (Washington, DC) and was a member of the executive team at the Wilmington Trust. In 1998, he co-founded FideliTrade Incorporated a precious metals trading and sales company based in Wilmington. In 2005, he founded Solidus Associates, LLC.
During his career, Clark served as president of Delaware Depository Service Company, LLC (DDSC) and chairman of the Industry Council for Tangible Assets (ICTA), a Washington DC-based precious metals trade association, where he remained a lifetime board member. In 2008, the ICTA awarded Clark its first "Chairman's Award" at its 25th anniversary celebration in Baltimore.
Clark also served on the Precious Metals Advisory Committee of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Most recently, Mr. Clark established both Diamond State Depository, LLC, located in New Castle Delaware, and International Depository Services of Canada, LLC. At the time of his death, Clark was the President of Diamond State Depository.
Clark graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1969, where he played football and was captain of the 1968 Navy football team - he still holds the record for the most pass receptions ever made in an Army-Navy Game (10). Clark earned a Master of Science Degree in Aeronautical Systems Engineering at the University of West Florida, and served in the U.S. Navy as a test pilot and naval aviator until 1980. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School in 1975 and later served in the Naval Reserve where he achieved the rank of Commander.
An active member of the Wilmington community, Clark served on the board of directors of West End Neighborhood House in Wilmington, and served as chairman of West End's Bright Spot Ventures, the for profit enterprise of West End's "Lifelines" Program helping "aged-out" foster care children. He also served as a member of the Board of the New Castle County Police Athletic League in the 1980s.
Clark is survived by his wife, Lisa Quadrini, his brother, Louis Clark III (Sally), his sister, Karen Clark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE 19807 on Tuesday, August 6, at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in the adjoining Church Cemetery.

Mike was our next door neighbor while living in Guam. We remember him well - yes, even from that many years ago! Always vivacious, caring and genuine, he was a fine aviator & a joy to know. I´m so sorry for his family that he left this earth so soon - but we shall all meet again one day. Of this, we an be sure!

Michael was a dear friend, colleague, partner and employee over the past 30 years. He always had time to share a joke or a smile and in times of chaos was
unflappable! He was a dedicated man who set his course and didn't deviate ----if there were bumps in the road-- he was the got 'er done man long before the cable guy! We will miss him very much---and hope that your happiest memories, Lisa, will give you comfort. We believe Mike has found a new home in the house of his God and we will meet again one day on the 19th hole!
God bless you, Lisa and Mike's siblings. We were all lucky to have had our time with him. With love and prayers, Jane and Michael
Our staff at ASI share their thoughts and prayers with you and Mike's family. Mike will be missed every time we think of Diamond State and Dillon Gage.

Hi Lisa. We were so sad to hear about Mike's passing. Our memories of being with Mike at Alameda and then on Guam in the early 70's will always be cherished. He was such a great friend and, without a doubt, the most accomplished person we know. The years and miles have kept us apart, but he was always close in our hearts. May God bless you and grant Mike everlasting life in His love.

Lisa:
Not until this morning did we learn in an email from Josh that your husband had passed away, or did we know that he was ill. If we were in VA we would have been at the service to aupport you during this difficult time. Babs said she sent me an email when Michael passed away but I never received it. Otherwise we would have reached out to you sooner. We hope that during the days ahead thinking about the wonderful times you and Michael puts a smile on your face. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
Love,
Flo and Alan

Someone wisely said that true friends are not necessarily those you've known the longest. They are the people who walk into your life and simly say "I'm here for you."
Mike walked into my life, and many others, with a quiet smile and kept his promise. I shall miss him.

Sadness in London as we learned late last night of the death of our Wilmington, DE neighbor and friend CDR Michael B. Clark, USN '69. Smart, accomplished, humble, humorous, and unfailingly convivial, Mike was a rare and wonderful individual. Love and sympathy to Lisa and Mike's family.

Mike was a classmate but not an acquaintance. He enjoyed a stature, a presence in the class. My memories of his face from nearly 50 years ago match the photo above - a large, welcoming, boisterous smile. What a fine man. Non Sibi.
