Words can not express how sad we were to hear of Dr. Jays passing. He was a wonderful Dr. to our son Mason. With deepest sympathy.

I can't help but make another comment here. I've been coming back to this Guest Book to read entries, and I have been so touched by the comments from families and patients (and others) who knew Dr. Jay. They are all a testimony to Dr. Jay's goodness and influence. How wonderful, even in sadness.

Feel very fortunate to have know Dr. Jayakumar. He was my son Jonathan's doctor for 21 years. Our family was so very blessed to have him as a doctor and friend. He was so kind and thoughtful to all of us. Not only did he care for my son but he helped my family greatly in the early days of understanding about living with Arthrogryposis. He helped my five daughters to understand what was going on with all the trips we made to A.I. In the beginning and for 18 months we traveled there daily. Dr Jay was always so willing to talk and encourage Jonathan and the rest of us. He knew just what was needed and was willing to provide it. We were greatly blessed by him and am so thankful God brought Dr Jayakumar into our lives.

Dr. Jay was my doctor from the time I was only days old until I was 19 and he retired from A.I. Dupont. He was such a great doctor and never steered us wrong. I thank my lucky stars everyday that my parents found Dr. Jay. I was lucky enough to live just around the corner from A.I. for my first 5 years. Even when we moved to VA and Dr. Jay gave my mom names of doctors down here we still opted to travel 4 and a half hours just to see him. Through all the PT and 5 surgeries Dr. Jay helped me become independent and get out of my braces by the end of high school. He was such a great man and certainly will be missed. I'll never forget you Dr. Jay. RIP.

Dr. Jay was an integral part of my daughters care through the Spinal Dysfunction Clinic at AI duPont Hospitall for Children. He provided guidance as she was braced to walk, learned to walk and later decided to use only her wheelchair for mobility. He also performed several surgeries on her spine for scoliosis. I recall many difficult decisions through which his gentle kindness and guidance encouraged and supported both her and us as parents. He will always be fondly remembered as a part of Samantha's growth and development. My sincere condolences to his family for the loss.

I owe my life to Dr.Jay. I came to the U.S. when I was 11. I was noticeably disfigured due to scoliosis. Dr.Jay worked his magic to reconfigure my spine such that the defect was hardly noticeable. I went on to finish nursing school, marry and have 2 children. May God bless Dr. Jay and his family.

Dr. Jay took care of my son since he was about 4 (he's now 26) and performed a much needed corrective club foot surgery on him. Years later he also treated my grandson. Couldn't ask for a better caring and concerned doctor. He will surely be missed. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.
