My name is Lucy Wallace Oakes. I am an ardent and avid FOWLKES researcher and am sad today that I did not get to meet Thomas Hearne Fooks. He favors my family so very much and I just know his genealogy coincides with mine. I hope someone in the family is going to pick up where Thomas left off and that they will contact me and we can exchange data. My name is Lucy. My email is LMTHE1RN@aol.com. I look forward to hearing from his partner and or other family. Sincerely, Lucy Oakes

Tom was a good friend, a creative thinker, energetic and a serious historian particularly of Colonial History. The Delaware Society of Colonial Wars is indebted to Tom for his service as a Governor and organizer on its behalf of the Caesar Rodney Fellowship at the University of Delaware.

Tom's interest in DelMarVa history brought him to the Virginia Center for Digital History (working with Scot French and others) and then to the Inst. for Adv. Tech. in the Humanities (working with me and others).

A true pleasure to know and work with, even when his "tenacity" was directed at you.

Tom, I'll light a candle for you the next time I am in Booker House and will remember your stories of your student days living there!!
