Dr. Dominic Ross De Cristo, 97 Dr. Dominic Ross De Cristo, 97, of Folcroft, where he was a family physician and resided for 53 years, passed away peacefully at his home on June 30, 2013. He was born January 1, 1916 the son of the late Pasquale and Carmela (nee Lauria) De Cristo. He was a graduate from West Catholic High School in 1930 and also attended Villanova College and the University of North Carolina. He obtained his Medical Diploma from Philadelphia College of Osteopathy in 1943 and took additional courses in medicine at the University of Pennsylvania between 1948 and 1949. Dr. De Cristo served on the Folcroft Board of Health as a member from 1964-1968 and was appointed Health Officer in Folcroft from 1968-1983. He also served as Health Officer for Tinicum Township from 1972-1978, was President of Darby Township Board of Health from 1974-1980 and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Baby Clinic in Darby Twp. from 1973-1981. He was also a member of the American Cancer Society Board of Directors from 1975 to present, held an honorary membership in the Chapel of Four Chaplains Society since June 8, 1980 and was a member of the National Republic Community from 1980-2013. He was the loving and dedicated husband of the late Gertrude H. (nee Agnew) De Cristo and was a wonderful and caring dad, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Family: He was the loving father of Ruth M. Barone of Sanford FL, Lawrence De Cristo of Canton PA, Rose Marie De Cristo of Lindenwold NJ, Rita De Cristo of Folcroft and the late Frances De Cristo; and is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, daughter in law Joyce and his only living sibling his sister Rose Perkis. Visitation: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Sunday evening, from 7-9pm and Monday, after 8:30am, at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. Funeral Mass: will be held Monday 10am in the Church of St. Gabriel, Mohawk Ave., Norwood. Interment: SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial Contributions: May be made to the American Cancer Society Attn: Memorials 1626 Locust St. Philadelphia, PA 19103.
