Ann I am sorry to hear, I just found out last night, of Mike passing. Mike was a good friend, and the best manager I ever knew, at Cameron , Ventnor, and Contiv Services. We work together a lot and even on your home. He was a great person and even went out of his way to help me and my wife when our son was very sick at the time. He will be greatly miss by my family and anyone who ever had the honor of meeting him. We are sorry for your loss . God bless you and your family. from Ron and Catherine Scott.

Mike and Dot and all of Mike's family, I was thinking about one of my best childhood friends the other day and imagining how nice it might be to reconnect again after spending most all of our grown-up years apart. I was so very sad to learn that I was too late when I came upon this memorial site. I didn't have any brothers, but Mike was like a brother to me as a kid. Our birthdays were only 3 days apart. I shared the happy childhood memories described so eloquently by Dan Lomas, playing with Mike and Ed and other pals from Nativity at the fabulous Ferguson homestead on Highland Avenue. I can see now that the seeds of Mike's likeable, intelligent, musical, and creative personality obviously blossomed and took form as he matured and became the wonderful person that so many have so well described. I feel through everyone's comments, in a way, I have almost come to experience what a great spirit and joy of living he had for myself - almost as though we had indeed re-connected, though not in the way I would have preferred. Mike was always an inspiration to me to do better. That is still true after everything I've read. My condolences, albeit belated, to his family and a very sincere thank you to Dot for always treating me like family.

The entire clinic of the Abramson Cancer Center was deeply saddened by the passing of Mike. Although we didn't have Mike for very long, we instantly knew how special he was. Some people effect us through the remarkable way they live. Mike also had a profund influence in teaching us a courageous way to say goodbye. Despite his own suffering, he managed to put everyone else first. One day Mike came in the clinic in a great deal of pain. Our objective was to get an emergency MRI to see what was causing the increased pain.Mike questioned how we could get the MRI so quickly. When I explained to him that we have two emergency slots for traumas, he replied "I will wait. I do not want to take a spot from someone else who might need it" As I looked at his face grimaced in pain, I realized how incredible he was.Mike was a hero of our heart. He lived a life that was completely selfless. One of the nurses spotted him leaving radiation with a camera. She immediately thought that he was having his picture taken for completing his therapy until he explained that it was someone else who had finished and he was taking pictures of her, as she was alone. She walked upstairs and said Mike is a "Hero of the heart". What we carry with us is the memory of what a gift his life was in ours. A gift too enormous to fit under a tree, yet invisible to the naked eye, but profoundly felt in our hearts. We are not just thankful but eternally grateful for your life in ours. Happy Birthday Mike!!!
Sincerely, your friends in the infusion center
