Richard A. Sprague, age 67 Richard A. Sprague, age 67, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on February 28, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edwin S. and Hilda Sprague (nee Carlisle). Richard was a graduate of Chester High School. He served in the U.S. Navy overseas on active duty from 1966 to 1971. He was a long time member of St. Anastasia Church in Newtown Square. He was a member of the choir of St. Athanasius Church in the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia for many years. Locally, Richard was a popular hairstylist for over 40 years and had a devoted following for decades at Skip's Hair Affair. His dedication and generosity were legendary among his loving customers. Survivors: His siblings Edwin H. (Virginia) Sprague of Buffalo, NY, Robert P. (Russ) Sprague of Paoli, PA, Lynn K. (Emidio) Taylor of Elkton, MD and a loving family of nieces and nephews. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Friday, March 7, 2014, 9:00-10:30 a.m., The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 610-353-6300 and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Five years later, and I still fondly think of and pray for Richard.

I went to Smedley and Chester High with Richard. One of the nicest, polite, well dressed kids in school. I remember his quiet demeanor and presence.
