i had know al since i was a teenager attending the same church and living about one half a mile away. al was one of most sincere individuals i have ever net. to me he was an iron man. in his actions and his words al continually strived to put the lord first in everything in his life. al's history, as i know it, was one of helping others. he was in the peace corps, he was a church youth counselor and teacher. he was a coach. he also taught in the public school system. al was a people person, who was so busy helping and encouraging others: young, old, alone, or shunned...al would do what he could for you. he helped me when i was in my early twenties and lost after recreational drug use. (i was 'somewhere out in left field' as al put it many years later). al helped me find my way to live with the lord's blessings. i have never had such personal discussions about the lord and the word with anyone as i had with al, (except perhaps with my mother and father). al was the real deal. he loved me as a brother in christ and as a friend. but, through the years, he wasn't afraid to correct me and say to me that the lord has a better way for me. i am so glad he befriended me. i will never forget him. his simple words of truth and wisdom will ring on in my heart. thank you al. joy: my deepest sympathy to you. you were a wonderful team. al once told me that he didn't have a clue about life and love until he met you. i believe him. may our lord, and your family and friends, continue to keep you strong in their love. ...i apologize for making this so long. - rick ulrich

Alan and I knew each other from early grammar school. He was a good guy and fun to be with. He and I were "W"s and sat in the back of the room for our first 7 years or so. High school came and then I would see him at reunion time. Rest in Peace, brother.

Don, I remember your family from the neighborhood and Greece Central days. I ran into Alan a few years ago at a Marshall Reunion. Sorry to hear of your loss. He was a great guy.

Joy, I remember Al
since I've been in NCF, he will be sadly missed, he was always there for my son when he attended school. Be comforted by our Lord today.
