I'm sorry for your loss. Our families grew up together in Rochester, and George was responsible for getting me a position at GM, which I can say got my career started. He was always like a second father to me, as his father, James, was my Godfather; his mother was my Godmother. We were always together for birthdays and many, many holidays. He was a tremendous mentor and expert in many things. As a matter of timing, my mom just passed away two weeks ago, and it is sad to see that entire generation from the Greek Community in the 60's and 70's now departing us. There are few remaining. My condolences to the family.

George remains one of the funniest, most kind-hearted people I have had the fortune to know. He loved people for who they are - and took a genuine, personal interest in everyone he met. While most teenagers try to keep parents - yours and others - at arms' length, I always enthusiastically anticipated a visit to Dennis' house. "Hey, is your dad going to be there?" George was persistent in inquiring if he could join our band. Said he'd wear a clown wig and sing or play drums. One time, I went to the lower basement while the rest of the guys were still upstairs. Yup. George was sitting at the drum kit wearing a wig. I'll protect the innocent and the guilty and just leave it lie where it lies that after a frigid day sledding at Powder Mill Park, George saved us from what may have turned into frostbite. Totally serious - just a few days before George passed, I was actually reminiscing about him with my wife ... and I'm 50 now. Dennis, Jimmy, Vicki, and Lois, know that George was a great man.
