Jerry was a fantastic shipmate and crew in the USCG Auxailiary and its AUXAIR program. He was a skilled Coxswain and one of the very few USCG AUX crew who were signed off to Coxswain CG vessels at USCG Station Sodus Point. Jerry put his heart and soul into everything he did. He was a fearless Air Observer and made me crew with him when he was a Coxswain on a CG boat. I was his crew one day when he masterfully maneuvered the CG vsl in the churning waters of the channel at Sodus Point to allow an exhausted person who was dangling from the bottom rung of a ladder in the channel, who could not swim, access into our CG vessel. He just took that rescue in stride and we conitnued on wwith our patrol. Jerry was ever the consumate professional, quite an "IRON MAN" always showing up the Young Coasties with his Iron Man talents and successs with races. I will always cherish my time with Jerry and the memories of our time together.
