Luke Burns Obituary
Ontario: Luke passed away on November 11, 2016 at age 11. He is survived by his loving parents, Eric and Fran Burns; brother, Eric; big sister, Rachel; grandparents, Frank and Dale Burns; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Luke was predeceased by his brother Baby Burns, grandma Bobbi Williams and great grandma, Dot Gordanier.
Luke was a beautifully wrapped package of love, energy, enthusiasm, compassion, intelligence and good humor.
Luke loved deeply - sports, learning, laughing, his community, friends and his family. He loved playing football for Wayne Junior Eagles Football Club and was starting a new season with Greater Rochester Area Basketball. Luke had also played baseball, lacrosse, wrestling, and enjoyed skiing, water skiing, tubing, paintball, fishing, and doing cheer stunts with his big sister Rachel. He seemed to have endless energy to pursue his passions.
Smart and funny, Luke excelled at school and fed his curious mind with books and online learning about sports heroes, science and things like solving a Rubik's Cube, Luke could do it in under a minute. He was also known to enjoy a good prank.
Luke had a huge heart and his family and friends meant the world to him. He loved time with his family at camp on Joe Indian Pond and at Higley Flow State Park. Luke would choose time with those he loved over anything.
Family and friends are invited to join for a celebration of Luke's life on Saturday (November 19) at Living Word Assembly of God, 2344 Ridge Rd, Ontario, NY 14519. Visitation is from 12 PM - 2 PM with a service starting at 2 PM.
Luke's family asks all of his friends and classmates to wear Wayne Wear or an article of clothing with their favorite sports team to the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Luke's name may be directed to Wayne Junior Eagles Football Club.... To leave the family an online condolence, please visit www.murphyfuneralservices.com.

A sad anniversary today, 7 years without you. You would be a senior right now, and I wonder to myself if we would have stayed friends, if we still would have shared our seat on Kathy´s bus until I could drive, what it would be like seeing you in the halls again, what you could have grown into. I miss you.

I was holding it together so well until my Mom started crying. By the time "Lost Boy" was playing, I couldn't control myself. I miss him so much now. I always was so excited for Rachel and Luke to come over. Now it's just Rachel and it's hard not to say Luke too.
He loved the Nerf guns at our house, he would build towers with blocks and shoot them down. My younger brother Jackson loved playing with him.
I remember the last time I saw him. I was at camp with him and Rachel. After waking up, we watched Spider Man. I never finished watching it with him.

Luke was my best friend and still is to this day and I wish he was still here with us. I will remember the times we had together forever. He was a bundle of energy and enthusiasm. #10forlife.

Luke was my best friend in kindergarten and I still considered him as a friend... I miss him very dearly and hope he is doing good up there in heaven with God. I know God is taking good care of him. I miss you Luke!

Knowing that one of my best friends was gone it left me in a endless hole. Luke was one of those guys who was a leader and a great friend . I remember the day when Luke taught me how do solve a Rubik's cube. And that is one of the things that he was a great friend. During football I got picked on by these two guys all the time. When Luke saw that I was getting picked on he latterly changed my life. And I'm going to thank him for that when I'm with him again. I'm going to miss playing football with him. I would like to say sorry to Lukes family for your loss.

The first day I met Luke, was on the first day we had basketball this year. When I asked someone for help he would say that he would help me. Luke will always be in my heart forever till the day I die

From the first day that Luke walked into my classroom in September I knew he was an amazing child. He never came to class with out a smile on his face and I will never forget that about him. As we shared memories in class the other day the students shared so many wonderful memories they each had and I felt as though I got to know Luke even better. I am so sorry for your loss and you are all in my prayers. He was a very very special young man.

My son Izak was in three of Luke's classes, and even though they only new each other a few months, Izak already considered Luke one of his new friends there at the middle school. Our family, as well as the entire Wayne family is saddened by his loss. Our hearts are with you through this difficult time.

I was a teacher in Wayne Central. Luke's soul left his body and he will reincarnate and be reborn perhaps into the same family. He is watching and is still present. I hope this helps. It is what happens.
