Miss you my old friend.

Well , this is sad, I only found out today about this loss. Robin was my Ska DJ Partner back in the mid 1990's at a club called the Abyss in the city of Rochester. His Amazing collection ( and mine) inspired Me to approach the owner of the Bar with the premise of a Ska Nite dedicated to the Jamaican music and it's offshoot International "waves" which were somewhat popular at the time with college music fans. We only got about 8 -10 real Ska fans to come out but it was a blast and we were able to do the show for about 6 weeks till the owner basically decided it was not quite worth it. It was not long after this that "Doctor Awkward" was a Radio DJ At RIT with his own special "Ska and Roots Emporium" radio show that was an incredibly fine presentation that no doubt educated many listeners joyfully for many years. His Radio moniker being a reference to his unique feet / shoe situation. I always told him he had a great voice for Radio and he did! I have many great memories exploring and sharing music and life and even some nice recordings we did together. His support of my efforts have always been a sweet part of our friendship and I am very sorry his life had hardship and has been ultimately too short.
This loss is saddening but I will cherish his kind decency and try to be as caring as he was in the same ways. I have a Christmas show double cd of his from 1997 and he gave me a personalized "shout out" and of course a nice one for Mary as well! This shows how considerate he could be. I am gonna miss this Guy. So to anyone whom may read this, know you are not alone in being touched by this very wonderful man!

Robin,

So glad we had the opportunity to catch up on the phone last month - for four hours; it was so great to hear your voice again, I couldn't hang up. I'll be thinking about you every time I play the favorite reggae songs that you shared with me. You are irreplaceable - a loyal friend with a great appreciation of our good old times and a unmatched font of music culture knowledge. Nothing is the same without you. Looking forward to seeing you again on the other side.

Rob,

You are the greatest treasure God had gifted the world, your fantastic semi-sarcastic and soft delivered comments (accompanied with a modest smirk) and your warm unpretentious heart, I can go on and on.. you will be sorely missed... I'm sure all of your dear friends and family are hurting as much as I am over your passing. Our sense of loss is relieved by the assurance that Robin now resides in paradise in total completeness and free from all the suffering this world had heaped upon him. When he visited and spent the night and next day with us after our 2013 class reunion Robin accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. We agreed together that not much else matters once our eternity is secure. Credit is due to God's great gift of salvation for all his created people. Freely given and overflowing in everlasting richness and abundance. BTW, Classmates and friends rallied together and paid off his car ( shown in picture) I had it towed upon Rob's request to a Lyndonville NY garage where it is now stored where we had all repairs complete and ready for him to get his eyesight back. Any one in the family who is interested in receiving Robin's car can call me at 716-799-4768

Love ya Rob,
