I worked side by side with Bill for a few months at Dynamic Dies in Gates, must have been 1993 or so. Then I served as a roadie for Uncle Sam for a couple of shows including one at the old Bombay Bicycle Club and a trip on the bus down to NYC. Good times. What a kind, talented, and funny guy he was. I can still see that smile and the twinkle in his eye as he's saying Let's get the hey out of here!. It's been many years since our paths crossed but you've been on my mind, brother, and you are missed.

Bill was a former student of mine at FLCC. We had been keeping in touch since he started his own studio and was keeping busy. It had been a few months since we last spoke and I was looking forward to talking with him.
I'm shocked as I'm sure everyone is. He was a kind soul who will be missed by many.

Bill was my first lead guitarist in my first band!! I've been thinking of him and the band alot over the last few years because I moved to his home town. Driving down near the HOG allways brings back great memories of fun and good times. I am sorry I never got to run into him after all these years. I am so sorry and god bless the Purol family and friends..

Dee,
My condolences to you and all of Bill's family. I never met your son, but from all I'm reading here, it sounds like he was a wonderful human being and, if I may add, a chip off the old block...your free spirit, your love of music and for life and the beautiful ways you've both touched the lives of so many. My heart is with you. May you find comfort in knowing that God is holding your son gently in his arms.

With much love,
Marilu

I wish that I could put into words how a bird sings, I wish I could put in words, how a bird can fly. You could sing so well, you soared so high. Your guitar, your instrument, your voice, your soul. We were friends, we were confidants. I will love you always.

My memory of Bill is that he was a kind, compassionate man, a loving father to his two boys, and one who was there to help. I remember him playing his guitar and my granddaughter singing, and them talking of making a recording. He also helped me out with a few plumbing problems.

May the Lord grant him eternal rest. I can visualize Jesus, wih arms outstretched saying "Welcome home Bill."

My heart goes out to Michael and Alex and the rest of his family.

I remember hanging out with Bill and Scott Winter back when they had a band named Permanently Now, They had a practice room in a building up on St. Paul near downtown. Every Sat,Sun a bunch of us would gather there and listen to them practice. They would have shows down in Charlotte or birthday parties here and there. They were always playing somewhere.
I remember him being the nicest guy. Really a sad thing to see him go.
Take care Bill. See you soon.

Bill was one of my best friends and one of the most wonderful people I've ever known. He truly cared about others and he meant so much to me. He believed in me 100%. He helped me create music that I was so proud of. He never took a penny from me for it. He just did it because he loved music and he was my friend. He was always there for me to talk to. It's so sad for the world to lose somebody like that because friends like that are so rare. I miss him so much. I'll never be able to explain to anyone how much he did for me. Every song I ever write or sing from now on will be for him.

Isaiah 57:1-2 in the New Living Translation:

Warm Summer Sun
By Mark Twain(Samuel Langhorne Clemens)

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

I will always cherish the memories of the cottage and the warm summer sun. I feel blessed for having known you, even if only for a short time. Rest in peace.

Bill was absolutely an amazing man. Would give up anything to see a person who he loved happy. Shared so many important and amazing memories. One of the kindest people I had the priveledge to know. One day I know ill see him again to hear him say "help me, help you". Spent one of the best moments of my life with him on our trip to Detroit and Philidelphia, still have it on film. Loved this man like a brother and can't wait to hear that same charasmatic voice. Was going to do big things with him musically but will have to wait to do that now. Bill inspired many to believe in themselves and made those who had little hope, gain hope. It is time to celebrate his life by remembering his smile and laughter, we should not mourn the loss. He brought joy to all that he met. Love you Bill, you will always be in my heart as a person who not only taught me how to harmonize (haha) but taught me how to enjoy life and music that much more. There will alway be a spot in Belligerent for you. Thank you for the hug the last time I saw you. Oh and roll me one of your patented cigerettes for the road. Love you man.

P.S - Make sure that motel we stayed in, in Detroit never goes outta business.
