To all of Max Boten's family --

I am deeply saddened to hear of your Dad, grandpa and great grandpa's passing. Even sadder that I just found out about it today.

Max was a great guy and I have a hard time recalling a time when I did not know him.... He married my beautiful Aunt Jane and years ago I used to visit their home in Urbanddale Ia. I would agree you had a wonderful Dad and grandpa and were fortunate to have him for so long, but it still doesn't ease the sorrow now that he is gone.

Know that there are others, known to you and not, that also share in your sorrow and grief. I'm glad I knew him and even prouder that he was my Uncle Max.

May God grant you all peace and understanding.

Sincerely,

Bob Allen, Pella, IA

Dan: We are so very sorry about your dad's passing and send our sincere condolences during this very sad time. All the wonderful pictures posted of your dad with his family are so heartwarming. You can certainly see such a resemblance between you and your dad as a younger man. Along with those physical traits, however, your dad must have instilled in you the same values and devotion to family. We will keep you and yours in our thoughts and prayers.

The world is a little darker and a little more scary without Mr. Boten in it.

I have such great memories of the first almost 7 years of my life when I had the joy of living next door to the Botens.

Much love and many prayers to those he left behind. Please take comfort in knowing your dad/grandpa/great grandpa impacted at least one life. It was my life and I am so grateful.

Max Boten will never be forgotten.

Max was a wonderful person. I remember talking to him across the fence or coming to visit with him (and your mom) on his back porch. He always took time to say hi and wave. He will be greatly missed! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

I loved Max. We worked together and spent lots of time at the Elks club. He was a great friend to both me and my husband, Del. I'm sorry for your loss.
