JERRY AND JOY LEANEAGH: A LOVE STORY
Jerry and I met on the internet. When we saw each other in Gemini Restaurant on January 10, 2006, it was love at first sight and five hours later, we knew we would be together forever. We asked about getting our Marriage License at the DMV and when we learned it would only be valid 3 days, we got married that day April 25, 2006 amidst cheers from the people there. We picked our wedding rings with Jerry's having blue stones with 2 diamonds and mine having red stones with 2 diamonds. We officially tied the knot at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Lakewood, CO on June 3, 2012. As Soul Mates, Jerry and I began a joyous marriage that lasted almost 7 years when on November 17, 2012, Jerry suffered a massive heart attack. During our idolic 7 years, we rode 5000 miles on our motorcycles, traveled to Hawaii, California, South Dakota, Iowa, Virginia, Maryland, Arizona and Pourto Viarta among other places. When we walked into restaurants we were an inspiration to all. We always held hands everywhere we went - even the grocery store. In 2007 we bought a home in Brighton, CO and joined First Presbyterian Church of Brighton. We have a marvelous Church family there. On November 10, 2012, friends and family surprised Jerry with a party on his 80th birthday. On Sunday, November 11, Jerry excitedly declared in Church that his daughter and his all-time-favorite wife, Joy surprised him with a party and he announced that he had 3 friends with him. He then said that he was 80 years old and he had never been happier in his whole life! It was a match made in Heaven. It took me a long time to find Jerry Leaneagh and I am happy I had him in my life for 7 Happy Years. RIP, My Jerry!!!!
