Dear family of John Larimer,

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. It's never easy to loss someone so special to you but always cherish the wonderful memories you shared with John. He will never be forgotten by those whose lives he touched. I hope you find strength from family and friends, most importantly from God. He will give you the courage you need to go on in life but still hold onto those memories. John is now resting and you all have the opportunity to see him again someday.

I'm so very sorry this has happened. Though I did not know you in life, you seem like someone I would have been friends with. Much love from Ohio.

I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time in boot camp with larimer. You really get to know someone when you sit up all night shining shoes and writing down general orders. He's a great human being and the world needs people like him. Thoughts and prayers to your family big guy. Your a true man who will protect the people he loves at all costs. I aspire to be the man you were. Div. 145!

You were indeed a HERO. It is heartbreaking that you lost life in such a senseless tragedy. I am so sorry you did not live to pursue your dreams. Rest in peace in our Father's loving arms.

Scott and Kathleen,
You both raised an amazing son. The core values he had were learned from a young age. I will keep your family in my prayers for a long, long time. It was an honor to meet him and have my daughter train at Great Lakes with him. He was respected as a leader there and in Pensacola among the young sailors.

As sad as these last few days have been, it was a wonderful tribute to John's life. It really helped to just be together and hold and cry together. This family will only get stronger and closer because of this horrible loss. We will always miss John.
