Jerry was truly one of a kind man. In 1971 he sponsored me into Iowa YPO a new chapter at that time. Then later one day he came into my office which at that time was new and state of the art. Jerry looked around and said,,,nice but not as good as the one I am going to build in Algona. Then he started to do the famous Jerry Leaneagh grin and said you will be happy about it however because you are going to build it for me. We had fun doing his last new office in Algona. Another of many recalls I have is one day Jerry called me and said Go to Waterloo and pick up a new airplane I have just bought. I replied that I had never flown one of the particular multi engine planes it was. He laughed and said don't worry, the operating manual is in the glove box. That was the way Jerry lived and how he thought. I then flew the new Beechcraft home to Algona while he sped off in his new Jensen sports car. Quite the guy. Those of us fortunate enough to have known Jerry will always hold him in highest regard and esteem. He truly was a man's man.

Jerry was one of a kind. This warm heart touched a lot of people. Having worked for him at the Directory and then, moving out to Colorado with the gang, we all became quite close. I will never forget that smile and always a positive word. Quite the influence on all of us who knew him. Peace be to you, Jerry.
