I have just recently learned of Casey's death.
When I think of my years with Casey, I can only say thank you.
Thank you for the skills that you taught me, thank you for the confidence that you gave me, thank you for the life long lessons that I continue to use today and thank you for the love of bringing music to life that thrills my heart every day. I send my love to Casey's family and the Adams State College Choir family.
My favorite Casey saying, "We all have our problems, solve them"! In God all things are possible!
Thank you Casey Jones, I look forward to our reunion in the heaven .

My participation in Casey's choir was happenstance, but how fortunate for me that I had the three years to sing under his direction in both the Adams State Choir and then while student teaching in Denver, in the Colorado Choir. Casey gave me the foundation that still is with me after 33 years of teaching. His sense of humor, his stories, and the discipline in performance he demanded of his singers are the foundation of my work today in music. He more than touched the lives of his students and those who had the opportunity to work with him.

It was my privilege to spend 4 years singing with Casey's choir while at Adams State after having known him and his family during my high school years. His sense of music set a high standard and provided an outstanding basis to equip me for working with my own choirs for the past 40 years. He was my friend and had a tremendous impact on me. I am greatly appreciative of all he taught me. The music world lost an outstanding leader.

As a music graduate from Adams State University,I am indebted and eternally grateful to Casey for imparting to me some of his masterful skill in employing Tempo Rubato and his insightful understanding of the inherent soul of each musical offering. He was blessed with a truly profound ability as a conductor. He regularly achieved the transcendentally sublime.
