As a child I perceived my grandpa as THE standard, principle, and tradition wherewith all music was built. Although hunched and heavy with his steps, his presence radiated the posture of brilliance. His smile was a great reward and his pointed finger won my immediate attention. In our family music was the avenue to express our love, hope and at times to pray, and Grandpa taught us all to do it well. As stated here before, he was a “Giant” to me and will always be.

Singing under the direction of Casey for his last year and a half of directing the Colorado Choir gave me a glimpse at the rich history of choral conducting. It was a treat! He will be missed.
