Uncle Stan

His only surviving sibling, my mother Mary has asked me to write. She is 103 and gets easily muddled but has a memory that someone rang her to tell of the sad death of her younger brother. She wishes to be remembered to her nieces Clare and Sally-Ann, and says that if she had known earlier she would have come to the funeral Well, maybe...!

I have the fondest memories of Stan, as he gave time to me, a little boy of 10 or so, when I stayed at Stead St in the holidays. He showed me how to catch trout in the river at the back of Para bank....and how not to get caught by the gamekeeper.....and he and Cyril had ferrets which we used where the Castle estate is now. Bird nesting in the woods. Golden days.

If this cyberspace message gets through please let me have an address.

Best wishes,

David Knowles. tel 01235 847903. 19 Lady Place, Sutton Courtenay OX144FB
