So sorry to hear that Ave has passed. We worked in the same area at Principal for a few years and he was always such a friendly guy with a big voice. My sympathy to the family for your loss.

My sincere sympathy to the family of Ave Karstens.

I never worked with Ave at Bankers; but I knew who he was and was always glad to see him in the halls and to be greeted by him and warmed by his ready smile. He was a charming man. I last saw Ave about four years ago when we both attended the wedding of my neighbors, Curt and Barb Parrott. I was happy to see he still had his welcoming smile.

I was lucky to know Ave through Al Manning and Jim Rodriguez and visited him at his lake home at Panorama. Ave took pride in his beautiful wooden boat and took us for rides around the lake. He was a perfect gentleman and we'll miss him.

Ave was my boss for awhile a Principal but more than that he became a close friend just about as soon as I met him. Ave had a very caring heart and he always lit up when talking about his grandkids. I know you are in God's heaven now my friend. Rest in peace. With love Al and Kris Manning

Averell and I first met in the 7th/8th grade classroom, under the teacher named Mrs. Irma Salmon. She was an excellent teacher and got Ave (8th grade) and me (7th grade) on the right road as students. Ave graduated from Anita a year before I did, but we were close right through his first marriage until he has left us in death. We've been on different paths in our life, but we were close friends. My last conversation was on the phone about a week prior to his death. He has found peace through Christ, and I know God is with him. God, Bless the family he has left behind.
