To the Acheson Family, I just learned of Sam's passing. I was cutting his hair back in 1980 when I found out Sam's mom and my grandmother "Clara Elizabeth Cox-(Butler) were first cousins. I am so happy you got to live a good long life. I will miss your smile and stories, Dwain Baker.......
Depend on Him at all times...before Him pour out the pain within.
God, is a refuge for us. (Ps. 62:8)
What a wonderful gift Sam was to the world. His memorial service spoke so clearly as to what an amazing man he was and how much he was loved. I remember all those hay rides and bonfires as the youth in West Des Moines Christian. He truly did love all children, and his whole family reflects that love still. He has left a spectacular legacy for us all.
Keith and Kent, I have been thinking of you a lot this week since reading your father's obituary in the DM Register. Your parents were so very hospitable to me when I was your guest in their home during our Simpson College days -- some of the nicest people I've ever met. My sincere condolences to you at this time.
Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.
I used to deliver propane to Sam and enjoyed all of our conversations. He was a very nice man.He will be missed.
Uncle Sam's quick smile will be forever etched in my memory. Uncle Sam and Aunt Mary hold a special place in my heart. May all who knew Sam be comforted during this time of loss knowing he is home. My heart goes out to Aunt Mary. I would have liked to spend more time with them both in the last ten years. The last time I saw them was August of '05 when they came to visit Grandpa Roland and Grandma Betty for birthday celebrations right before Grandma passed. Love to you all!
We are so sorry for you loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these difficult times. Sam will be missed.
Thinking of you during this time. So sorry to hear of your loss. What an awesome life lived.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Kent, Keith, & Sam. Your father was such a special person to me as I'm sure he was to many. He was like a favorite uncle or even second dad to me. I'm sure I drove him crazy being around so much; your place, the body shop, etc. I still have the 30-06 casing he let me shoot from his rifle when we were very young. I remember him putting the 265 V8 into the 1950 pickup, the camper he built, the carport, the plane ride he gave to my youngest son Dan, etc, etc. The friendship he had with my parents, the list goes on and on. We love you all; take care of your mom and give her our best
I've known Sam for years and years...he was one of my first customers in my early years of parts sales. Such a great guy to work with. My husband, Mark, and I have lived on their property for 7 years now, and Sam never failed to swing by in the golf cart to say hello and make sure Mark was actually working instead of just standing in the garden...such a card, our Sam. My heart goes out to Mary and their sons Keith, Kent and Sam, and of course all the family that loved Sam so much. We'll see you again, Sam.
What a great, beautiful life you had uncle Sam. Prayers going out for peace and comfort for your loved ones.
Aunt Mary and cousins Keith, Kent and Sam Jr.; very sad to hear about Uncle Sam, but so glad that I had the chance to know him. I have fond memories of visiting his home (and yours) when I was young. All my love.

From one of the Plainview ladies.
Sam was a good and kind soul who will be long remembered for his big smile, gentle heart and hard work.
We'll miss seeing Sam out on the acreage- Sam (and Mary) were the best neighbors and it always amazed me to see him out doing some pretty impressive projects with him well into his 90's! Miss seeing Mary walking the perimeter of the field too.
What a great life! 101!! RIP Sam. Our sympathies and thoughts go out to Mary, Kent, Keith, Sam Jr. and the family.
Condolence. Beverly Cunningham
My condolences to the Acheson family. To lose a love one at any age is always difficult for "God has put eternity into our hearts" (Ecclesiastes 3:11) Please know God is aware of your loss and promises to undue our heartache "when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." (John 5:28,28)
Mary Francis and Kent and family- My mother thought so much of you and your family, enjoyed her time with you when she was on her Dad's farm (Lora Brooks Ackerlund), I miss her much. God Bless and Sam will maybe give her a hug for me when he sees her. Ralph sends regards also.
