Although we did not know Madelon, we read her story with great interest. We have the B17 Alliance Museum and I own The Bomber restaurant in Milwaukie, Oregon. We have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people (both Veterans and civilians) who have sacrificed so much for our country. Madelon had such an amazing career, I only wish we had the chance to meet her personally. If your family ever wants to share her story, we would be so proud to tell it to the many people from around the world who visit us.

Our love and prayers to the Smith and Hill family. What an amazing life and what an incredible woman. God bless,

Our sympathy to all the family. Madelon was a member of the water exercise class at the Tigard High pool. Since we were children, during WWII, it was fascinating to hear of her experiences as a WASP. She talked about the differences in flying a plane over Iowa as opposed to the Las Vegas terrain. When she left Tigard to move to Bend, she was missed by many of us. She truly was a member of the Greatest Generation.

I was sorry to learn of Madelon's passing. I very much enjoyed knowing Madelon and her husband Jack over the years. They both certainly made great contributions to their family as well as in service to our country in World War II. They represented the best of the "greatest generation". My sympathies go out to the family.

Our condolences to the Hill family. Your mother was an amazing woman, as evidenced by the wonderful children she raised, who have gone on to raise amazing families of their own. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
