Carol, Tony and I found out, today, of Bob's passing. We had no idea he was ill. Our hearts are saddened. Although we live many miles apart, we often spoke of you both. He is missed, and our thoughts are with you. Sincerely, Tony & Janelle

Carol, just saw this today and we are so sorry for your loss. We have really missed you and Bob since moving to Minnesota 21 years ago. You and the family are in our thoughts and our prayers.

Carol: I was so very sorry to here that we lost Bob. He was a very special person to a lot of people. I remember meeting him and you on a very cold, snowy new years day 1984. You opened your home to Joe and I, even helped write the wedding vows. I thought of him as a friend and admired you both for your love and commitment to each other. My thoughts are with you.

I was saddened to read of Bob's passing. I had not heard he was ill. My early memories of Bob and Carol are associated with our years in the Simpson College choir. Many years later I was an occasional substitute organist in a church served by Bob. It was obvious he was beloved by his congregation and by all whose lives he touched. Well done, good and faithful servant. My condolences to Carol and their family.

Carol, our thoughts and prayers are with you. I enjoyed him so much when he was at the Fort Des Moines Methodist church. Mr. Crandall (or as he told me, call me Uncle Bob)married my wife and I, took care of my grandparents funerals. He was a man that made a person feel comfortable and someone you could trust. When my Dad passed away in the spring of 2012, I was having a very tough time dealing with my Dads death, and "uncle Bob" and I met to talk and for coffee. I will never forget our talk and how good he made me feel on life and death. He will never be forgotten!
