Charles Cleveland Curry passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, in Hurst. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Charles served in World War II with the 20th Air Force during its campaign through Japan, China, Central Burma, India Burma and Sumatra. After serving, he returned home to marry his wife, Eula Mae. Charlie worked with his father in the family-owned grocery store business in Carlsbad, N.M., until he was hired by Southwest Potash Mines. Upon retirement after 34 years, Mr. Curry had advanced to plant comptroller and acted as liaison between New Mexico and the New York office of American Metal and Climax. With retirement, he and his wife moved to Texas and built a home in Colleyville. Mr. Curry was very active as a volunteer in the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, he was voted and honored to be the "local hero and volunteer of the year" in Colleyville. Mr. Curry continued to be active in the Chamber until 2009. He was always open to helping people and always wanted to do more for the underprivileged. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ora Curry; and sister, Patti Sue Wright. Survivors: His wife of 67 years, Eula Mae; son, Grady Bryant and his wife, Jan; nephew, Doug Wright; and brother-in-law, Charles Wright.
