Charlie's Mom drove Charlie and I from Kemp to College Station in September 1942. He and I were lifelong friends and buddies. After our graduation from A&M we saw one another when we would be in Kemp at the same time. Last time I saw he and Billie was at his sisters funeral. I have lost a lifelong friend. My sincere sympathy to all his family and friends.

Charlie was one of my favorite people over the years. He and Billie were a part of my parents' circle of friends in Fort Worth. I got to know Charlie when I worked with him at The Western Company. I remember him telling me when I got transferred to Fort Worth from the field; "Hang in there. If I can make the transition, you can make the transition." He and Billie were just good people. They don't get much better than that.
