McLean Family.... Neil and I will keep you in our prayers always. My heart is broken for you.
My heart is aching today for you and your family. I cannot imagine the loss you are feeling; but may the knowledge that others are praying for you, loving you in spirit, and holding you close in heart help ease the pain a little. I have a son who is a police officer, and I lost a nephew several years ago in the line of duty, so your loss really touches home. May God give you comfort, peace, and wisdom as you continue on with your life, minus one.
I only knew of him, but I know a few who did know him and what a great man he was. I can't imagine what his family is going through my heart breaks for y'all. He lived his life as a hero to his family and his community, I hear he give his life being a hero, for a stranger, someone else's kid. I don't know how someone can do that, but i'm not a hero, they're very rare and very special. Thank God for men and women like Sgt. McLean. My prayers are with his wife, mother, children, family, friends, everyone who is hurting right now you have a community behind you and while it can't come close to replacing him I hope you can find some comfort.
I am so very sorry for your loss and your family is in my prayers. I did not know him but he gave his life to save others. May God keep you all in his arms and surround you with peace and comfort. God Bless
He always had time for everyone. I remember back when he was a dispatcher on the midnight shift in Hamilton Co. We used to have an elderly lady who would call every night convinced that someone was banging on her outside wall. We eventually figured out that it was the wind blowing her porch swing against the wall. We told her about it but she would call during the early morning hours without fail. Lance would send someone by to look at the house and reassure her that there was no one there. Then he would just talk to her. About her family and how her grandchildren were doing. That's just the way he was. He was never spiteful or grumpy with her. All this while attending the academy and working full time, with a pile of homework. He always had time to talk with that woman. As a young dispatcher (his relief) I was always amazed by his kindness. Especially in such a stressful position. He is missed.
My prayers go out to your family. May god keep you strong. I did not know him but I believe he was a very brave man. God bless
