I only found out of your death today from Doyle as I have been working outside the United States for the last three years. My thoughts are with your family and I can not imagine the lose they most feel. Meeting you in Connecticut instantly delivered a feeling of comfort from brought on by your professionalism but most importantly your fraternal kindness and willingness to do anything you could to assist me. Although I did not have the opportunity to work with you on a daily basis and regret not being able to learn more from you, I do treasure my time with you in our professional endeavors. My most enjoyable thoughts are having you in my home and cooking my Texan brothers a feast that you spoke of often and I felt privileged to be able to have you in my home and around my family in a relaxing environment. Your love for your job and family was clear and you were a happy man, which is contagious to all around you. Hearing you tell stories about your passions and most importantly your family is a memorable time. Your leadership, friendship and spirit will not be forgotten and you will remain in my thoughts.
Semper Fi Brother

Rex, I warmly recall getting to know you when we were both 6:00 a.m. regulars for workouts at the City Club, and thereafter, in recent years, I would often find myself sitting in a downtown Fort Worth restaurant and look up and out a window to see you smiling from the sidewalk as you passed, gesturing with your two fingers to your eyes and then pointing at me to let me know that I was under your watch. I will miss you, my friend, but I will also take comfort knowing that you're still keeping on eye on me.
