Roy was a friend of my father, Lanham Riley. As a youngster I remember seeing Roy at horse shows. He always had a good story to share as did my dad. He was a gentleman and fine horseman and will be missed.

Roy was a good guy, who could teach you more in a story than a lot of people could in a week. He will be missed among all of us who knew him.

I always enjoyed showing to Roy. I considered him a true horseman. I had a friend up here that wanted a youth horse and I found them a big palomino mare that he had. She was just what he said she was. They loved her. What a nice guy.

As a youngster growing up neighbors to the Savage family south of Chico I remember Roy and the rest of his family. They were good friends of ours and we visited in each others homes many times. Roy was a little older than me and I always admired him especially his ability as a rodeo performer. Althought I have not had the opportunity to see him for many years i Ihave many fond memories. My prayers go out for God's comfort for all the family.
