Tio Sabino- I want to share with you that you were right!! My hard work, dedication and determination has finally paid off now as I have made it to "the top" like you always said in our conversations. I wish you were here; I miss talking to you but I know you are happy in heaven!!
I'm so sorry that I did not know about Sabino's passing until today. He and I would collaborate on some of his investigations (I work in Code Compliance Substandard Building Services) and I always looked forward to that. He was always so happy and enjoyed talking about his family. I missed him after he retired and will miss him even more now. I have lots of work memories of Sabino that I will hold on to and I know, as his family, you all have wonderful memories to cherish. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
wow! what an achiever , I Cant Believe We are Actually Related, Mr.Sabino You Look Similar to My Father R.I.P .
Tio Sabino while growing up you told me to always dream and to dream big. You said that one day I would be someone in life. You said that with determination I could accomplish anything. Seeing you accomplish so much, has made me want to follow your footsteps. You've taught how important an education is in this world. I know how much you wanted me to finish school and go off to college. Be certain that I will. I miss you so much I can only remember our special memories we shared, eating French Fries with Ice Cream at Braums and Fried Ice Cream at Uncle Julio's were our favorite. It was so hard seeing you so weak and fragile near the end, but you kept strong like always. Tio even though we could not go out for ice cream I enjoyed spending my time with you doing crossword puzzles and having conversations about what my future would bring. I was to little to remember, but I heard many stories of how you carried me for endless blocks in my Halloween costume trick or treating door to door. Tio you carried me as a little girl and God carries you now and your destiny is heaven. I know it hurts to say goodbye but I know its time for our farewell. You may be gone but I know you are watching over us. I will always miss you and wish you were still here but I know you are happy in heaven. I will never stop loving you and you will always have a special place in my heart. Tio I know one day I will make you very proud.
Condolences to family as well as prayers of peace and healing.
I worked with Sabino on the Tarrant County Arson Task Force. He will be missed, I loved that he always had a smile every time I ever saw him!

Sabino will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. I was fortunate to have met him through the IAAI and I am greatly indebted to him because he always was very supportive and encouraging me to do more for our Hispanic brothers and sisters in the fire service. My heart is heavy. I pray for your lovely wife and family during this difficult time.
He was one of the last of the "good guys" and my world is a better place having known him.
I never meet this man but had great respect for him & his life achievements. As a young man my father Juan A. Cardenas would use him as a role model of what is possible in America. When my father and Mr. Vasquez were young they worked a Trader mills (cotton oil plant)in South Fort Worth early 1970's Mr. Vasquez would tell my father that one day he would become a firefrighter in Fort Worth. In the 1970s it was almost impossible for this to happened since only whitemen were hired. But with hardwork & determanation ,him became a arson investigator for the Ft Worth Fire department. This is truely an America story...
May you be comforted by loving memories. Though the ones we love may leave life as we know it, in our memory, the love we know will always carry on. My prayers are with you and your family. With deepest sympathy,

I was so proud to call this man my friend and co-worker. He was more than just a part of the Fort Worth Fire Department, he was one of its most respected and admired members to ever wear the uniform. I never, ever heard one person say a negative comment about him. Every time I was blessed to be around him my heart smiled, regardless of the situation. He just brought out the love and happiness in all of us. Along with that however, he was dedicated to doing his assigned tasks with the FD with skill and determination. But in addition to his strong work ethic he also saw the value of knowledge and education, and he would continue the quest for it his entire life. What a legacy he leaves for all of us in that regard.
I am one who believes that those who we met in life, good or bad, add to the makeup of who we are. Sabino was one of the greatest positive influences for me. I learned so much from him on how to be a man and for that I will be forever grateful.
To the Vasquez family ..... thank you for sharing him with the rest of us. I know he missed a lot of family events because of his assignment, but know that his presence at those incidents was many times critical. Be proud of his service to the City of Fort Worth, the State of Texas, and our country.
Sabino - I will miss you everyday my friend but look forward to a day when I can once again shake your hand. Via con Dios.
With great sadness in our hearts we have to say goodbye and words don't begin to express how much we love you. Sabino thank you so much for loving my sister and my family. I'm so honored to have been part of your life. Always remember that we respected you for the great human being that you were. You showed us that nothing in this world was impossible and that it only took determination. You were a true inspiration and an extraordinary role model to my children, and that I will never forget. I thank God for putting you in our lives and the many great memories we shared. You will forever be missed my friend....
Enjoyed getting to know you in the UTA Master's classes. You always had a big smile on your face. A kind and true gentleman.
Really enjoyed getting to know you in the UTA Masters class. You always had a smile on your face. A kind and true gentleman.
I went to graduate school at UTA with Sabino. On the first day of class, we were told to create a group of people to work with. I was in the back of the class (with Kim) and couldn't find a group. Sabino and Hoyt immediately asked us to join them. We sat by each other over the next two years, took many trips to the snack shop and swapped many great stories. I learned so much from Sabino. Prayers to you my friend...
My heart is broken but I know you are in heaven with Mamá and Carmen. Remember what you told me "It is a date at the gates of heaven; I will be there" For now, I will keep you alive in my mind and heart. You will always be my hero!!! Lo quiero mucho tio.
God Bless You, Tio. We saw little of you growing up, always with your briefcase and laptop, trying to make it to family events as you could. I always wondered what you were up to ..I heard you tell your stories sometimes and I think, people can only wish to experience what you did. Im so proud of you, hard-working and dedicated to your career. Always an optimist, I know you lived your life with no regrets whatsoever. Give a hug and let Grandma and Tia Carmen know I miss them. - Margolis Vasquez Family
