Herb Kee, 84, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, at his home with his wife at his side. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, the Rev. Greg Garris and the Rev. Alissa King officiating. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kay Lynn's Pantry, St. Philip Presbyterian Church, 745 W. Pipeline Road, Hurst, Texas 76053. Herb was born in Wichita Falls on Aug. 16, 1930. A family move took him to Fort Worth and education through the Fort Worth school system. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1949. He married Patricia "Patty" Buie in 1953. After serving the First Army Calvary Division in Korea, he attended the University of Texas at Arlington and Tarrant County College. Herb enjoyed sports all his life, from football and softball to golfing and fishing. He was an excellent golfer and won many amateur tournaments in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Herb loved to fish with his two sons and brother-in-law and enjoyed competition, and it showed in his trophy case. After his Army discharge, Herb joined Bell Helicopter where he had a very successful career. He retired from Bell Helicopter after 37 years of service and represented Bell at home as well as abroad. Herb was a very involved grandfather with his four granddaughters and grandson and enjoyed taking them to movies, parks and the zoo. He especially enjoyed seeing them participate in competitions. He was preceded in death by his brother, James L. Kee, and parents, Roy and Velma Kee. Herb always made me feel welcome whenever I would come over and visit with Scott when we were just kids. He had an easy smile and grace about him that was very special. My condolences to all of the Kees and extended family.
