I didn't know Mr. Ford but, it was a strange that the night before his obituary was listed, I happened to be watching the ID channel and saw him concerning the Donahoo case. RIP.

I had the honor of knowing Jim for 30 years. I met Jim after I became a prosecutor. I later became a criminal defense lawyer. I have always had the greatest respect for Jim. Quite honestly, he is probably the best detective I have ever known. Jim was always working to find the truth. He would work as hard to clear someone as he would to make a solid case. From the defense side, if it was a Jim Ford case, I knew we were in trouble.

As if his qualities as a detective weren't enough, Jim was a great guy. He was always glad to see you, and always found time to chat. I will miss Jim.

My deepest sympathy to his family.
