Margaret had such a kind spirit and a lovely smile in a busy, hectic business world. I am sorry that I didn't get to see her during her retirement days. She was always happy and she was one of my mentors at Alcon whether she knew that or not.

Mom, its only been 7 weeks but it feels like 7 years. I miss you. I keep thinking "what if...." I know that I shouldn't, but I just cant help it. Again, thank you for choosing me to be your daughter....you were MY GIFT!! Love, Karen

Patty (Margaret-known to Alcon employees)was one of the sweetest, fun loving, inspirational people I have ever met. I first interviewed with Margaaret at Alcon Laboratories in March of 1988 and worked with her until her retirement. Margaret sat in an office right across the hall from me those first few years and there was barely a day that passed that we didn't visit. She took me under her wing "day one" and continued to keep close tabs on me as recently as in the last several months of her wonderful life. I remember her skiing trip sometime in the early 90's where she had a very bad accident where she sustained some very serious fractures and tears (she wasn't a youngster at that time) and it took her months and months to heal. As she would make her way down the hall at work with her walker each day, several would ask "Would you do it again?" And Margaret would say,,,, "Well of course I would. Why not?" That was just the kind of free spirit Margaret was and I will never forget that about her. To her children and grandchildren who I know she loved dearly, may peace be with you as you grieve the loss of such a wonderful lady.

Patty was such a beautiful person & I am proud to call her my friend. We spent many good times together at "Bookies" or "Red Hat" events. Seeing her smile always warmed our hearts.
