To Mike's family; I am so sorry for your loss.
Mike passed through my life for only a short time but he has always been a part of my memory.I was sadden to read of his passing.

Back in 1961 I had just graduated from Glen Rose High School and he from Cleburne H.S. My friend and I had decided to attend the Texas A&M Adjunct Summer School in Junction,
Texas so we could get a head start before attending the fall semester at Texas A&M. Mike had also decided to attend.
(Four years before our attending Junction, Bear Bryant had taken the A&M football team to Junction for the infamous "summer camp" that produced a SWC champ the following year.)

It's been 50 + years since then so I don't recall how we met, but I do remember him as friendly and a very good athlete.
Back then PE in college was not an automatic A. You were judged on how fast you could do a shuttle run, number of pull ups and various other physical challenges. Mike excelled in all areas and I'm sure made an A.

I do remember that after the term was over, my friend and I rode back to Cleburne in Mike's car. My job was to keep a look out for the Highway patrol. We made good time coming back and that was the last I saw of him .

My friend and I ended up transferring to Texas Wesleyan University 2 years later. I was glad to see that Mike got that Aggie ring in 1974.

It seems his path took a very patriotic turn in the sixities. I was very impressed with his exploits and appreciative of what he did for our country. I'm sure you are very pround of him.
