My sweet son, I found the most precious cowboy sculpture of a cowboy and his son. It is you and Taylor exactly...just the way you always stood...that swagger. I have it hung in my bedroom so it's the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing at night before my prayers. It makes me smile. It reminds me of the first belt buckle Taylor won with his sheep event.
I love you...always & forever,
Mom

Hi my sweet son...I just had to write you. We had the most awesome visit with Taylor. He is truly a grown man now, son. He's 6'6" and gives hugs as strong as yours...never thought I'd say those words, but not to worry...your hugs will always be first with me, but Taylor's are a definite second!! He totally understands that. He's like you...he never gives just one...he always comes back once or twice and always tells me each time "I love you". He has no idea how much those visits, hugs and sweet words mean to me. He has truly saved me after losing you. I still have that very special part of you here with me...my precious Taylor.

He's doing all sorts of horse things now and loving them all...truly following in your footsteps, but in more ways than just that...he's tall and tough and true...just like you. He's always respectful and humble, but he has that special funny charm about him, too. He has that 6' tall and bulletproof attitude as you did...so Stephanie and I do worry, but as with you, God is in control and I love to see him living life so completely!!

So many of your traits I see shining through that precious boy...it makes my heart so happy. He is more of a blessing to Carl and me than he will ever in his live know!

Carl and I were both physically unable to make it out to the cemetery this time, so sweet Taylor took out the flowers for you, Mama and Daddy for us...I have to say that made my heart so happy.

I've been thinking about you and all your cowboy friends who have come home to heaven, honey. I have a cowboy sculpture in both our homes and I've actually named the cowboys. I got them right after you died, and there was no doubt in my head that the second cowboy from the right was you...it has your perfect stance. As time has passed, and your cowboy friends have joined you, I've named them all...so here the sculpture is and here are the names I've picked for each of them.

From left to right, the cowboys in heaven I refer to as JESUS BAND OF COWBOY ANGELS are:
Your Poppie Bryant Lively, a Reserve Texas Ranger
Danny Brown
Mike Freels
You, my precious Scotty
Harold D. Nix

I know you guys ride proudly together...Jesus Band of Cowboy Angels saddle up to ride again. I wrote a song about you guys....here it is:
JESUS BAND OF COWBOY ANGELS
By Linda Jones Chew Graetz

Verse I
Did ya hear that sound? Oh, yeah!!
That's heaven's gates opening wide...
Jesus' Band of Cowboy Angels
Are coming to take us to the other side.
Man, old Satan's not looking so good...
He's looking like he might wanta run...
Don't he know that to a cowboy...
Fighting evil's just pure fun?!!!

Chorus:
Don't be afraid, brothers & sisters...
It's all according to God's great plan.
It's the night we've all been waiting for...
Time for the great Homecoming to begin.
The streets of gold are shining brightly...
Trees are swaying in the wind,
As Jesus' Band of Cowboy Angels
Saddle up to ride again.

Verse II
They just crossed the crystal seas,
And turned right at rainbow's end...
Their ropes are tied and dalleyed...
It's time to rid the world of sin!
Spurs are dug in hard and jaws are set...
A tougher group I've never seen...
Jesus Band of Cowboy Angels
Are now upon the scene...

Verse III
Jesus sent in Bubba with the message...
Redemption's yours for the asking, friend!
The price was paid on Calvary's hillside...
It's time to rid yourself...let all evil end!!
All you have to do, friend, is ask,
And we'll kick Satan to the street...
Then this Band of Cowboy Angels
Will take you HOME to Jesus' feet!

Chorus
Don't be afraid, brothers & sisters...
It's all according to God's great plan.
It's the night we've all been waiting for...
Time for the great Homecoming to begin.
The streets of gold are shining brightly...
Trees are swaying in the wind,
As Jesus' Band of Cowboy Angels
Saddle up to ride again.

Hope you guys like it!

I love you always and forever, my precious son,
Mom

Happy Mother's Day, my sweet boy. How I wish I could have your special Scotty hug today. Hug Grandmother and Granny for me and know that I love you with all my heart. Give Grandad a hug, too. I will never quit missing you, son. I love you always & forever, Mom
