Thelma and Ralph were friends of the Fustons for more than 45 years. I knew them first when Ralph was director of the First Baptist, Arlington, Single Adult Department in the late 1960s. When we began hosting international tours, Thelma was one of our best and most consistent travelers. We traveled together many, many miles to many, many countries. We loved Thelma and will miss her greatly.

I have taken Terri Smith as my own grandmother and I met Thelma only once. And that was an interesting visit because Terri's husband Shawn Smith was going to clean the gutters and he told me "Camden if I fall of this ladder go and get Terri right when he finished that sentence he fell." So while Terri and her sister Vicki and Shawn went to the medical center I stayed with Thelma and she gave me a doily and I still have it.

Love Always,
Camden Dedmon

Thelma and I seemed to always see each other after worship service at First Baptist Church and exchange greetings and I loved seeing her.
We were both tall and that felt good as well. I was so sad when I learned that she lost her battle to cancer. She was a great lady and will be missed by all who knew her.

I'm so thankful that as a new graduate in 1987, I was placed with Mrs. Britt. Known for her excellence, high expectations and the best nurses on her floor, I was so happy to be considered to be one of her "girls" as she often called some of us. As a young nurse, I admired her beauty , elegance and poise she possessed. I grew to understand she was much more than that. She was an excellent nurse who expected the best from her staff and she provided the best for us. Thank you Mrs. Britt for for teaching me excellence in nursing and showing us that a little icy weather will not keep her staff home. Ralph was there to bring us in if we couldn't drive on the roads. Thank you for teaching us so many admirable qualities and skills that made us all happy and strong nurses. We loved you! Rest in peace.
