Colonel Teal was a Southern gentleman and war hero...he never considered himself a hero ...
He was a charming person who always made your day a little brighter...we often met at Black Eyed Pea for dinner and talk about our experiences in the military and the South. He was .."the greatest generation..."
I shall miss him and never forget him..
Tom Teal....American Hero.

Colonel Teal was 17th Special Operations Squadron "Fighting C Flight" Commander at Tan Son Nhut Airport, Saigon during my tour of duty in Vietnam. We flew AC-119 Shadow Gunships in support of U.S. & Allied ground forces fighting the enemy. It was very dangerous duty. Col. Teal always stressed safety on the ground and during flight. He wanted all personnel under his command to live through combat operations to return home unharmed, which we did. And I have thanked for that.

My sincere condolences to his family.

Col Teal will always be remembered as a man of honor - I sensed that his time leading Fighting C Flight's Shadows was some of his best, I know they felt that way. Never forgotten. Wayne Laessig
