Ann Bailie

Bailie Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Ann Bailie, (Sister Alexandrine), died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, Ohio on July 4, 2016. She was born in Manhattan, New York in 1929 and was professed in 1950 in the former congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She earned degrees from Manhattan College, Laval University, Quebec, Canada, and New York University. She ministered as a teacher in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Ohio. In Ohio she taught at Holy Trinity School in Somerset and was Directress of St. Mary of the Springs Academy in Columbus. During her last years of ministry Sister Ann spent over 30 years as a Professor at Albertus College in New Haven CT. Sister Ann was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Agnes Bailie, her brothers Alexander and Father Robert Bailie, OP and her sister Sister Ellen Bailie, OP. Her body will be received at the Columbus Motherhouse on Wednesday, July 6 at 3 p.m. A Vigil of Remembrance Service will be held at 4:45 p.m. with the wake continuing until 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Columbus Motherhouse at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 7 with the burial at a later date.
