Dear Erin and the entire Nowilaty family,

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Ash. I did not know Ash but from reading about his kind nature it does remind me of someone I was privileged to know many years ago and for a brief moment in time, but one who I knew was special the moment we met. This person was Ash's late uncle, John F. Hider. We were in 3rd grade together in 1970. We would play football in the field behind Cranbrook elementary school at recess with the guys. John would blast out of class running and exclaiming GURNK! I loved and sensed his pure spirit and love of freedom everyday. I've thought fondly of him over the years and wish I had him for my friend now. I say all this because it sounds like Ash was very much like his Uncle John. I remember John's spirit like it was yesterday - and I know that all those who knew Ash will feel the same way. Remembering his wonderful spirit will endure. I wish I had met Ash because it would be like meeting my old friend John again. All my love to all those how loved Ash and his soulmate Uncle John. xxoox
