We knew Bruce from Roosters Olentangy after our Monday softball games. He and John would come in after their swimming and table tennis. We enjoyed hanging out with Bruce. He was a good man and we will miss him. Our sympathies to his friends and family.

I juat found out today 3-17-12 about Mr. Searles' passing. I knew him thru his volunteer work with Boy Scout Troop 275 - the bread and rolls he would make when we went to summer camp, and also from his volunteer work at Richard Avenue where my children attended. He never met a stranger. No matter whether it was at Krogers on Stringtown or wherever he always had a kind word for all. I will miss him. I think of him often. Heaven most ceertainly has a great new angel in Mr. Searles.

Bruce touched the life of my handicapped son during his swim time at OSU. He was a special friend, our sympathy and prayers are with you.

I'm so sad to hear of Bruce's passing. He was one of the first people I met when I started going to the pool at Larkins, and through the years it's been a real pleasure to know him. He had such joy for life and he made everyone feel special. On Monday nights I'd look to see him walking in with that big smile and his picnic basket, followed by a group of college kids anxious to see what he'd baked that day. And when he'd spot my head bobbing in the pool, he'd yell out a greeting to me for everyone to hear - and everyone would smile, because Bruce was here. We will all miss him so much.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Searles. He was an amazing man. He helped me read, write, and always loved to talk about butterflies. I am now a senior in high school, and I will always remember and miss Mr. Searles. To his family: my prayers are with you, as I knew how truly special Mr. Searles was.

Dear Searless Famly, We are deeply sorry for your loss. Bruce as he once told me to call him when I asked him about some plants was a kind person with a great smile, noticing my accent he wanted to know where I was from. I will always rememebr his kindness and knowledge of all the plants I asked him about. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Oh, Carol, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was one of the children's library ladies and have retired to NC now. I was so sad to hear of Bruce's passing.........his daffodils are fixin' to bloom here in our mountain yard, so I will have a lovely memory of your wonderful Bruce each spring. Amazing how Bruce spread his "Bruceness" all the way to NC and beyond. God bless you....
