So sad to learn of Bruce's death. He was a good friend in college and a joy to be with due to his humor and kindness.

To the Heine family,
Diane and I send our sympathies. I only knew Bruce a short time (during our years on the OSU baseball team). I liked him immediately our freshman year and grew to respect him for his caring attitude, his tenacity on the ball diamond and his leadership. I am sure all who knew Bruce are thankful for knowing him. God bless you all, Jim and Diane Elshire, Wapakoneta, Ohio

It is interesting that each of us who knew Bruce had a truly unique relationship with him. He had that rare ability to make each of us feel important, and valued.
The gathering Monday and particularly the wonderful service at Grace Brethren on Tuesday with its open mike brought this out so clearly. Those attending ranged from the rich and the famous to those who were little known and poor. All, alike had one thing in common. We were all richer in our spirits for having known him.

In sum, Mike Stanley said it well:
Bruce had two great loves-
Lynn, and Jesus Christ.
It really is just that simple.

What the caterpillar calls "the end of life", the Master calls
"a butterfly".

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

My heart aches for you both. Your father was always there for my family. Such a generous, caring and funny man who touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. All my love, Kim Baldini

Doug,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your father was a great man and I loved playing for him. My family and I are here for you if you need anything at all.

We have truly lost a salt of the earth man and friend. Bruce was our real estate attorney and wrote our wills, but most importantly, he was a good friend. We are heart broken to lose such a wonderful friend so soon in life but God evidently has a major project he needs done right. He loved ALL Buckeye sports and was a true ambassador for the university that he loved so very much. Know that your Dad touched countless lives and will be sorely missed.

Such a nice person forever. We competed against each other since we were 10 years old. Bruce had such a passion for the things he loved: family, coaching baseball and his profession. Our paths would cross every few years and it was like we were on the fields of dreams playing and having fun. He had a wonderful life but left the diamond too early.
All the best.

I attended Eastmoor and competed against Bruce in high school. I was also a fellow athlete at OSU. He was a fierce competitor, a terrific person and, while he was a sports warrior, had many other interests. After living out of Ohio for 40 years, I returned in 2010. I was fortunate to have been at a physical therapy facility several months ago at the same time Bruce was there. It was great to see him and talk with him. I am so sorry about his passing and regret not being able see him again. God bless you and your family Bruce and may his grace and peace be with all of you.

My prayers go out to the Heine family. Lots of memories about our conversations on the Baseball field. We have lost a great person.

There are a few people I remember growing up in Clintonville. Attending Clinton elementary, Crestview junior high and Whetstone high school. Bruce was one of them and I followed his career throughout! R.I.P.
