Anderson Chester Michael Anderson, age 88, of Dublin, passed away August 17, 2013. Born March 13, 1925 in Monaca, PA. He graduated from Monaca High School class of 1943. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946, stationed in the South Pacific and served on the U.S.S. Callaghan which was struck by a Kamikaze plane and sunk July 28, 1945. Following WWII he attended Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA. and graduated with a degree in Business. Following college he accepted a position as an auditor with Price Waterhouse in Pittsburgh, PA and performed corporate audits. He accepted a position at the Louis Berkman Company in Steubenville, OH, and began his 37 year career first as an accountant and through his years of service was named Vice President of the company in 1976. He served on the Board of Directors of the AMPCO Pittsburgh Corporation and The First National Bank of Washington, PA. He served many years as the Clerk of Wells Township, an elected position. He was a previous member of the Brilliant Christian Church and now a member of Dublin Community Church in Dublin, OH. He was a member of the American Legion Post 573 in Brilliant, OH, a previous member of the Steubenville Rotary Club and the USS Callaghan DD792 Survivor's Association. His greatest love beyond his wife and family was to travel. He was an avid traveler, visiting most major world sites. His passion for travel continued, with his final trip abroad in November 2012. Preceded in death by parents Chester and Regina Anderson, loving wife of 46 years, Jane Anderson and sister Gertrude Cunningham. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Thomas and Barbara Anderson; and beloved grandchildren, Mollie and Ryan Anderson. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Dublin Community Church, 81 West Bridge St., Dublin, OH 43017, where family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the time of service. Private interment Dublin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dublin Community Church, 81 West Bridge St., Dublin, OH 43017.
