Barker Cornelia (Pittman) Barker, "Bigmom", age 85, went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 20, 2017. Member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Predeceased by parents Frank and Fannie James, sisters Essie James, Elsie Mae Godette, Leslie Caldwell Brown, and Dessie Knight, brothers Frank, Jr., Bennie, Otis, Daniel, Lucious, and Alvester James, grandchildren Joyce Collins, Eric James Walker, Daselenette Walker, Baby Taylor, Lyesha Pedersen, and Coreion Weddington. Survived by daughters, Connie Collins, Norma Newkirk and Bernadette (James) Nutter; sons, Marshall James, Herman, Jr., Kenneth, Otis (Dinette), Lester (Coralean), and Michael (Denise) Pittman; 28 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 28 great- great grandchildren; sisters, Ornette (Rev. Leon) Hamner, Lillie Bell (Arthur) Singletary, Nellie Lois James, and Catherine (Joseph) Ballard; brothers; Levi (Rose) and Rev. Naradain (Melody) James; a host of nieces nephews, and other relatives. Home-going celebration Thursday, March 30, 2017, 12 noon at The City of Zion, 527 Wilson Ave. Family will receive friends 11 a.m. until time of Service. Interment GreenLawn Cemetery.
