Ella volunteered and supported Southwest Public Libraries in many ways over the years; she established the Friends of the Library gift cart and spent many hours running it. Thanks to Ella's generous contributions to Buck$ For Books, a great number of books were purchased, with her name printed on many donation labels in many books thru-out the Grove City Library. Ella will be greatly missed; she touched a great many lives.

I was so sorry to learn of Ella's passing. I met Ella when I was Clerk of the Board of the Franklin County Commissioners. She was such a sweet person and very dedicated to her profession. Ella will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May God bless and comfort her family during the difficult days ahead.

Ella was an icon at FCCS… and one of a kind. Her reputation for a complete grasp of the financials, combined with her clear headedness, sound judgment and a willingness to only “tell it like it is” made for some interesting interactions with the county commissioners, who would listen to others present the FCCS finances, but would invariably lean over and ask, “Ella, is that right?” before voting a budget. Her word was gospel, and nothing was moving without it.
Both a peach and a hoot, she was as sharp as a tack… and had an upbeat take on life. If you asked for her opinion (I did on several occasions), you got it… often wrapped in just enough wry humor so that she made her point while taking the edge off, if needed. She never offended, but you knew exactly where she stood. All that made for one of the best and most effective senior mangers FCCS ever had. And for that… we thanked and loved her.

God bless and keep the family and friends of Ella. I remember her kind smile from Franklin Children Services in the 1980's. Almost 30 years ago.
