Rossetti Dr. John 'Bud' F. Rossetti lost his long and courageous battle with cancer on November 6, 2013. Bud was born in Canton, Ohio, on March 23, 1939. He was the son of the late Judge John and Emma Rossetti. He lived in Canton, Ohio, most of his life until his recent retirement from the practice of orthodontics, at which time he and Diana moved to Dublin, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana; his beloved sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Mike Mackan; his children, Kristen Rossetti (Greg Mayernik), John (Lori) Rossetti, Jeff (Tara) Rossetti, Kara (Brian) Rigney; his step-daughters, Kelli (Patrick) Weber and Jaclyn Evans (Matt Van Druten); and nine wonderful grandchildren (John, Andrew, James, Cassie, William, Elijah, Elizabeth, Margaret and Alexandra). Bud touched many lives through practicing orthodontics (Drs. Rossetti & Fanno), golf, his love for classic cars and his involvement in the community. The love Bud had for his wife and his family was endless. His friends, his office partner, Dr. James Fanno, and 'office family' also meant the world to him. With heavy hearts, we all mourn his passing. Bud graduated from Western Reserve University's Dental School and then served as a dentist in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he completed an orthodontic residency program at The Ohio State University. He was the first President of the Ohio Association of Orthodontists, President of Stark County Dental Society, President of Brookside Country Club, and a thirty-year member of Canton Board of Health (two terms as President). Bud was a founding member of Jackson-Belden Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in having The Ohio Amateur Golf Tournament played in Canton, Ohio. In addition to many other admirable accomplishments, he also served on the inaugural committee to establish the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles. In 2012, with family and friends present, Bud was inducted into the prestigious Distinguished Dentist Service Academy. The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at KARLO-LIBBY FUNERAL HOME, 500 Everhard Rd. NW, in Jackson Township. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 726 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton Ohio, with Msgr. Patrick Gaughan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dr. Rossetti's name to the Stark County Dental Society Charitable Foundation, 6200 Frank Ave. NW, North Canton, Ohio 44720, or to Birdies for the Brave, www.birdiesforthebrave.org.

Dr. Rosetti, was a wonderful doctor and gentle man. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. He was very patient (esp. with his adult patients, like me, who didn't enjoy having "ortho" issues). He will be missed and I was truly blessed by his talent.

Many years ago as a 6th grader I had the good fortune to meet Dr. Rossetti who 'fixed' my smile. I did not know him well except for a short few years in my life but I found a quote that fits him perfectly. "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” My condolences to his family...

Diana and Family,
We were so saddened and "shocked" to hear of Dr Rossetti's passing.Our entire family benefited by his extreme kindness,gentleness and infectious smile and personality,as well as his "orthodontic expertise"....I remember telling him he could not retire until after Kristen,our youngest of five children, was out of braces and in retainers:he kept that promise!
We,as a family, are "kindred spirits", having experienced both of our husband's valiant battles with cancer.

It is with great personal sadness that my family and I are experiencing the loss of Dr. Rossetti. It was a beautiful service this AM for the kindest man I have ever known. Bud trusted me with his patients and gave me overwhelming support during my past 35 years in oral surgery practice. I am also grateful for the wonderful care he gave my family - wife Kathy, and daughters Katie and Emily. He will be greatly missed! The dental community has lost a great man and a great friend.

Diana and family,
Dr. Rossetti was one of the most caring, kind people I have ever met. I met him many years ago as an adult who had lost all hope of having my teeth corrected. He was so caring and understanding all the while he was correcting my smile. My husband and I will always be grateful for the compassion he showed our 2 sons while they, too, went through their orthodontic experience as young boys. As they grew older and caddied at Brookside, along with their sister, Dr. Rossetti always had a kind word for them. We are truly sad to hear of his passing and offer our thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

I was sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Rossetti. While cadding for him at Brookside Country he always asked me how my daughter was doing in swimming and told me to tell her not to break his daughters record at the CYC. I can't tell you how sad I am to have read of Bud's passing. He has always been one of my favorite people. He was a true gentleman. What a wonderful, kind and gentle man! Dr. Rossetti was our family orthodontist; my sister, niece, nephew & I were all in braces together & we called our church pew "Rossetti's Row". He was much loved & will be sadly missed. Our prayers are with his family in this time of loss.
