Bill and Lucy where like parents to me. I still remember Lucy riding on the tractor I had. She had never done that before seeing the expression on her face. Bill helped me raise the foundation on the farm house that Diane and I had near Bangor Michigan. Events like that even I don't forget!
I had a special bond with them and I miss them greatly. The good news is that they are both with our heavenly Father now. Blessing to the entire Travis family.
Love, Patrick Morrissey
I have such fond memories of both Bill and Lucy, particularly of the wonderful times we shared on our family vacations on Long Island in the Bahamas. Even though I was just a teenager those many years ago, they always included me in the nightly poker game! They were both very special people and we will be raising a Gin and Tonic in their honor! I hope that you and Dad are having a great reunion up there, Bill!
Mike , Nancy and family. I am so sorry for you loss. I pray your wonderful memories of your parents will give you many reasons to smile and I pray The Lord gives you peace. Love, Deb and Glen Johnson
My condolences to the family, I would have liked to have known this unique couple, I will raise a glass, to Bill and Lucy!
Paul, Diane, Mike and Pat, just read this ... Very well-written and with the passion, enthusiasm and creativity that fit your parents, perfectly. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
I have never read such a wonderful and classy obit! I do now know them, but they truly immortalize the greatest generation. My father was also part of Patton's 10th Armored. So sorry for your loss. A toast to you all.
MAY GOD BLESS TO GREAT PEOPLE. A COUPLE WHO ALWAY MADE THEIR FRIENDS FEEL SPECIAL.
To the family- I didn't know your parents...but I wish I had! What a beautiful blessing they were to your lives and others. God's comfort and peace to all of you in the days ahead and especially this holiday season.
Although I only knew Bill and Lucy a few short weeks, I feel I got to know them well and they touched my heart so much. And reinforced my belief in marriage, living life to the fullest and on your own terms.
I did not know your parents but please accept my condolences. They are together again and it does not seem as if they would have had it any other way. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful couple indeed!
We are providing a 2nd photo taken at the 2011 Arthritis Auto Show in which Bill is shown autographing our photo from Stars And Stripes. It was an honor to have him visit us there and tell stories. I believe he told us the S&S picture was taken during the Battle of the Bulge.
I met Bill at the 2011 Arthritis Foundation Auto Show in Dublin and was honored to have him sit in my World War II Army Jeep. He also autographed a photo from Stars And Stripes showing him driving one with German POWs pushing the Jeep out of a snow bank. That framed photo hangs in my office! A photo of Bill with us in Dublin is attached. And awesome couple from the Greatest Generation for which this country will forever be in debt. Rest in Peace our friends and thank you for your service for usand your example to us. - Barney & Carla Goodwin, Waverly, Ohio

What a beautiful obituary about an amazing couple. I wish I had known them. The true love and happiness that they had will go on and on forever... This is a shining example of how life should be lived. I will lift my glass in their memory.
What a beautiful tribute and what beautiful lives. I'm so happy to have met Bill. He shared his stories of the war with me, and I've preserved them in writing. They both meant so much to Van. The Travis Family is in our thoughts and prayers. Van Mefford, Mike Mefford, Patricia and Art Feierberg

Mr. Travis was my first boss in 1983 and I remember him as always being patient and kind. Cheers Mr. and Mrs. Travis, and to your family as well.
