Gerry influenced me by her example -- and what a joy-filled life she showed me! Her spiritual values were genuine and contagious. Over the past decades, I came to know her not only as a friend to my husband's parents (Mr. and Mrs. George Lattimer Stevens Sr.)but as a friend to me as well. We had many lively conversations -- usually about the "state of the world," and I was always left with a feeling of hope. Her sense of humor was an encouragement to me, as was her frequent observation that we are all in God's hands. I know she is there with Him now. And I will miss her greatly.
I will always remember Mrs. Wright for her southern hospitality, sweet smile, wonderful sense of humor, delicious homemade shortbread, and her strong southern accent which she never lost, even after living in Ohio for most of her life. She was a dear friend to my mother and was always incredibly kind and caring to me, as well. Those that knew her, could see she loved the Lord deeply and while her earthly presence will be missed, she is now truly home.
