George and I were in the Fifth Strategic Reconnaissance Wing together, stationed at Travis Air Force Base in the early fifties. I was saddened to learn [in the last few days] of his passing. I offer sympathy and condolence to his family.
George and I, along with our friend Robert ["Robin"] Minnis, spent a lot of time together during the last few months we were in the Air Force. I remember particularly a trip to Carmel for an Easter Sunrise Service and a July 4th camping trip to Yosemite. Although I was never in touch with George after our military days, it was no surprise to me to learn that George had done exactly what he told us he was going to do after the Air Force: Finish college in Journalism and work for newspapers.
Again, good wishes to George's family. I am digitizing some old photos, and will try to get them to you soon.
